Welcome
The mission of PMEA is to advance music education by encouraging excellence in the study, teaching, and making of music. Our objectives are to promote and support quality music education, learning and performance, and support music education in schools and communities. Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) is an affiliate of the 65,000 member Music Educators National Conference (MENC.) PMEA is a service organization to music education in the Commonwealth. The membership includes those engaged in music instruction at all levels, from preschool through college and university, retired educators, as well as those in music industry.
In addition, students enrolled in music education may participate in collegiate chapters and secondary students may participate in Tri-M Honor Society. PMEA provides leadership in professional growth and offers special opportunities for musical development to school students.
District 8 and Region IV Festival Bylaws Online
The 2007-2008 edition of the District 8 and Region IV Festival Bylaws are now online for District Chorus, Band, Orchestra and Jazz. They can be found on the Festival Policy page by clicking here. (1/21/08)
Region Band Music Read-Thru
All students participating in the Region IV Band Festival are invited to Central Columbia High School on Sunday, February 3rd for a music read-thru/rehearsal to prepare for the festival. For more information click here. (1/21/08)

Dr. William Ciabattari was appointed Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Bands at Lycoming College in 2006. District 8 Bulletin Board
The District 8 Bulletin Board is now "open for business". Use the bulletin board to advertise current events in your district, post general announcements and discussions, or post a job opening or musician for hire.
