PMEA District 8 HS Jazz Festival Information

To All High School Band and Choral Music Educators;

 

Welcome Back!  I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break.

 

As festival season quickly approaches, I am writing to share with you information regarding our PMEA District 8 Jazz Festival.

 

This year’s festival is April 17 and 18 and being hosted by the Selinsgrove Area SD.  Our host director is high school band director Ed Smith.

 

Below are the procedures for student application and recording submission.  For any of the links, copy and paste in address bar

 

HS CHORAL DIRECTORS

  1. New this year, directors must register all students who will be submitting a recording for evaluation.  The purpose of this registration is to allow us to prepare a scoring program prior to the audition day and give us a cross reference source to ensure we received recordings for all students being considered.  Registration must be completed by Tuesday, January 14, 2020

  2. Directors must submit the required number of audio recordings for each student applicant.  Audio files can be submitted prior to Wednesday, January 15, 2020.  Click on this link for further instructions. https://docs.google.com/document/d/10UgqXmIxzzvEwLAGxf5efEGtQjHTupN0QXHVpQD8--0/edit  THINGS DO HAPPEN…so even though you submitted audio recordings electronically, I would suggest bringing a flash drive which contains all the audio files as well in case of technical difficulties.

HS BAND DIRECTORS

  1.   2. Directors must submit the required number of audio recordings for each student applicant.  Audio files can be submitted on a flash drive with all audio files from all students at your school when you arrive at the District 8 Band Festival Thursday, February 13, 2020.
